Richard Roundtree, star of “Shaft” movies, dies at 81

Actor Richard Roundtree, who played the cool New York private detective John Shaft in the iconic “Shaft” movie franchise, has died at the age of 81. Roundtree had a prolific career in film, television and theater which spanned five decades.
