Puppy Mastering New Skill Impresses Internet: ‘Work Smarter Not Harder’

A social media video that captured a puppy mastering a new skill has left viewers completely impressed.

The viral video, originally posted October 29, shows a Staffordshire bull terrier puppy standing at the top of the stairs with a doggy bowl in his mouth.

Although it is unclear whether this pup meant to, he starts sliding down the stairs with the bowl. He did it in such fashion that it looked like he was gliding on a skateboard. Did he just invent “skatebowling”?

The front paws held down the bowl while his back paws were pushing him forward. And he totally stuck the landing.

If this puppy was fearful, no one noticed. Well, that is until the bowl scared him at the end of the video. Who can blame him though? The bowl was very loudly clanging against all the stairs.

Other than the bowl, it’s safe to say this pup was not afraid, which is not all that surprising given the characteristics of Staffordshire bull terriers. These determined dogs are very courageous, playful and clever, all of which are demonstrated clearly in this video.

The dog was smart enough to realize there is a faster way to go down the stairs, creating a new skill that probably no other dog has tried before. Now, that is impressive!

The owner is laughing now, but soon enough, this Staffie is going to figure out that constantly moving his bowl around loudly like this might just earn him an early dinner.

There is no doubt that every single person who watched this TikTok clip got a chuckle out of it. Whether the little Staffie was meant to slide down the stairs or not, the puppy totally went with the flow, capturing the attention of over 2.4 million people. The video has over 185,900 comments and 1,472 comments.

“He’s thinking I didn’t mean that but I’ma go with it anyway,” wrote one viewer. He totally played it off cool. Even if the bowl might’ve scared him at the end!

Another TikTok user @knolden08 commented, “Work smarter not harder.” Why waste all his puppy energy going down the stairs when he can rely on a new mode of transportation?
